Aerospace & Aircraft
Given the demanding requirements of Aerospace and Aircraft components, traditional materials are seldom used. High alloy materials such as Inconel, Hastalloy and Titanium are commonly used. The components are typically complex and difficult to deburr by conventional methods.
Abrasive Flow Machining helps to overcome these issues by flowing abrasive compound into the hard to reach areas. In the picture to the right, this disc's firtree slots need a consistant radius around the leading edge of the firtree slot. This is achieved by placing the disc into a holding fixture and flowing abrasive flow compound over the edges.
Abrasive Flow Machining is also used to polish Cooling Holes, Blades and Impellers. Radii can be generated on Dove Tail Slots, Hirth Teeth and many other components.
This segment of our business also requires precision material removal with over 20 years of experience in Aerospace and Aircraft deburring, polishing and radius generation we can solve your finishing requirements.
